Frankie has ridden a winner – now lets move on

Frankie Dettori rode his first winner after a six month ban so now racing can go on.

Surprise, surprise but racing pretty much carried on whilst he was banned too.

It’s difficult not to be attracted to Frankie’s every move not least his flying dismounts but I can’t say I have been entirely smitten by the manner of his return.

Everybody deserves a second chance ( though technically this his his third) but please Frankie don’t blame others for your downfall. And when you say everyone has been waiting for your first winner – that’s not strictly true, at least not in the way you mean it.

There have been just one or two hints that Frankie is still in denial. I hope for racing, his family and for himself that that does not prove to be the case.

I wish him well – but respect has to be earned over a period of time , not just one night at Sandown, even if your name is Frankie Dettori.
