Is The New One destined to be champion?

I love the horse (what is there not to like) and have nothing but admiration for both Nigel and Sam Twiston Davies who epitomize all that is good about the sport.

But I still have a nagging doubt as to whether The New One will ever win a Champion Hurdle. I think 2m 2f to 2m 4f is his optimum.

That said he ought to repeat his success of last year, when he beat Rock On Ruby, at Kempton today.

I will be having a modest interest on Chase the Wind in the 3.20 but dangers are all around in what should prove an informative race for the rest of the season.

Yesterday’s blog mentioned Roalco Des Farges and Johns Spiritas likely winner’s amongst others but my actual selections  didn’t deliver albeit Persian Snow ran a blunder. Chezzy was weak in the market and then his saddle slipped. I will keep the faith with both. Likewise Duke of Lucca ran with promise.
