Shotgun Paddy can clinch the Eider
Hopefully the rain will keep away from Newcastle tomorrow for the 4m 1f Eider Handicap chase. In the past there have been one or two pretty hard to watch finishes up the straight in grueling conditions.
Wyck Hill was a highly encouraging second at Chepstow on only his second run since winning this race 12 months ago and the 11 year old is hard to dismiss for a repeat.
Another former winner Portrait King comes over form Ireland having run well twice in the new year after being pulled up Leopardstown at Christmas. He’s another that should be cherry ripe for this.
Scotswell is a game front runner, whilst Fill The Power is capable of running on for a place at least. Sharney Sike has returned to form but like Alpha Victor is a little too quirky to back with any confidence.
I think there is a race like this for Venetia William’s Summery Justice although he disappointed in the Welsh National and he’s worth a small each way interest.
Shotgun Paddy was another to disappoint in the Welsh National but hes since shown his well being at Warwick and looks the right type and age for this. He is my main each way selection.
Saturday morning update : Kim Bailey seemed quietly confident on the Morning Line regarding Knockandrawley. Got to be worth an each way punt as well!
