Cheltenham Festival – day 3 preview
Yesterday saw probably the end of Sprinter Sacre’s racing career and whilst I layed him based on his seasonal reappearance it gives no pleasure to see the demise of a racing legend.
Pundits were quick to label Dodging Bullets a sub standard winner but it as a great training performance to win a championship race.
On a punting front, Don Poli excepted , it was a day to forget for me. I took the 10/1 offered by Ladbrokes for Don Poli to win the 2016 Gold Cup so hopefully recompense will come next March.
On to today and a wide open World Hurdle. Cole Harden has long been a favourite of mine and with 4 places a available with Hills I intend to keep faith with this gutsy hurdler. Saphir Du Reu, Whisper and Aubusson are others of interest.
Cole Harden chasing home Beat That at Aintree last April.
Vautour was mightily impressive when winning the Supreme last year and is strongly fancied to power home again.
As usual a wide open Pertemps where Dawalan is the most solid of my fancied.
The Tim Easterby pair of Run Ructions Run and Trustan Times look primed for big runs.
Sybarite and Spirit of Shankly are worth including in small stakes multiples.
Since seeing her win the Topham Ma Filleule has been on my to follow list and I see no reason to desert in the Ryanair today.
Taquin Du Seuil is a favourite of mine but as been disappointing this season.
Caid Du Berlais did my 50 to follow a boost in the Autumn and
is still open to improvement.
Un Ace looks primed to run a big race and Buywise will go close if his jumping holds up.
No strong fancies here but my picks are Clondaw Knight. Masters Hill and Just Par in that order.
