Cheltenham – The Open meeting – day 3

Poor day for the blog yesterday with onl Cogry living up to expectations with a staying on 4th.

Oscar Rock could never land a blow but it would be hard not be pleased for Ian Popham winning on Annacotty in the Paddy Power. The one to take from the race is Irish Calalier who probably hit the front too soon and will surely win a big prize this season.

So the final day of the excellent open meeting at Cheltenham. Today the Sprinter Sacre circus rolls in to time. A race to watch rather than punt on for me.

My main fancy is Nabucco who won a little cosily at Ascot last time and looks a solid each way punt. Bouvreuil rates the danger.

Warren Greatrex is in good form and Alzammaar can reward each way punters in the 3.15 where Crazy Jack and Tower ing are the dangers.

Calipto and Garede La Victoire will be rightly well backed in the grade 2 novice chase but Neil Mulhollands Fox Norton could slip under the radar.

Altior appeals in the opener to beat the Ferguson hotpot and Lucy Wadhams Potters Legend each way could be the answer in a highly competitive bumper finale.
