Mad not to stick with Moore novice

Ar Mad was mighty impressive when jumping a good field ragged at Sandown last time and there’s no reason to think he can’t repeat that at Kempton today despite the obvious danger posed by Vaniteux.

Desert Queen is not the easiest mare to ride but the stable should now have the measure of her to take the 3.10.

The visually impressive Draytonian chased home the useful Charmix before winning his novice at Wetherby and can win on his handicap debut 3.40.

At Leopardstown Ruby Walsh keeps faith with Long Dog 1.45 whilst 50 to follow horse Supasundae should be better for his recent hurdling debut 12.40.

The Desert Orchid chase is a race to watch for me rather than punt on. Vibrato Valtat may be the value bet.

There are two compelling staying handicap chases either side of the Irish Sea with Viva Steve my pick at Kempton 2.35 and Gallant Oscar in the 2.45 at Leopardstown worth an each way punt also.

Gallant Oscar

Yesterday Cue Card gallantly wore down Vautour close home in the King George and for me won despite not really relishing the right hand track. He and Don Poli are my two for the Gold Cup.

Faugheen put some pretenders to the sword and will be hard to oppose in the Champion.

Southfield Royale lost little in defeat in the Feltham and is my ante post fancy for the 4 miler at the Festival in March.
